Install the check valve to the vacuum brake booster hose, if removed.

Install the power brake booster vacuum hose and check valve assembly to the vehicle.
Connect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) to the power brake booster vacuum pump.
Install the power brake booster vacuum hose (1) to the vacuum port on the LH side of the intake manifold.
Position the clamp and secure the hose to the vacuum port.

Install the check valve (1) and hose assembly to the vacuum brake booster.
If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.

Connect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.
Install the rear intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear.

Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector, if equipped.

Disconnect the power vacuum brake booster check valve (1) and hose assembly.
Position the check valve and hose aside.
Remove the master cylinder. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder Replacement.
Remove the brake booster pushrod retainer bolt (1).

Remove the brake booster pushrod retainer (1).

Remove the brake pedal assembly nuts (1).

Disconnect the brake booster pushrod from the brake pedal pivot pin.
Remove the power vacuum brake booster from the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution.

Install the brake pedal assembly nuts (1) and tighten to 17 Nm (13 lb ft).

Connect the brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal pivot pin.
Install the brake booster pushrod retainer (1).

Install the brake booster pushrod retainer bolt (1) and tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

Connect the power vacuum brake booster check valve (1) and hose assembly.

Connect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector, if equipped.
Install the master cylinder. Refer to Brake Master Cylinder Replacement.
