Canister Vent Valve

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust Muffler with Resonator, Exhaust, and Tail Pipe Replacement.
  2. Remove the two EVAP canister retaining bolts.
  3. Slide the canister away from the body brace to provide access to the canister vent valve.
  4. Clean away any debris that may be present around the EVAP canister vent valve.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the EVAP canister vent valve.
  6. Twist the EVAP canister vent valve counterclockwise.

  7. Pull the EVAP canister vent valve from the EVAP canister.

Installation Procedure

  1. Insert the EVAP canister vent valve into the EVAP canister.

  2. Twist the EVAP canister vent valve clockwise into the locked position.
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the EVAP canister vent valve.
  4. Reposition the EVAP canister to the body and install the bolts and tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb in).
  5. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust Muffler with Resonator, Exhaust, and Tail Pipe Replacement.

Procedure

  1. Release the retaining tab and turn the valve counter-clockwise.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
