1 Quarter Trim Panel Insert Assembly

Procedure

  1. Use a trim tool or equivalent to aid in removal.
  2. Start at forward edge and pull outward to disengage the clips that secure the quarter trim panel insert to the quarter trim panel.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Place the folding top assembly in a full down position to allow access to the quarter trim panel.
  2. Reposition the quarter upper trim panel to gain access to the quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the front side door carpet retainer. Refer to Front Side Door Opening Floor Carpet Retainer Replacement.
  4. Remove rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation.
  5. Remove the driver or passenger seat retractor side belt anchor fastener. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Retractor Side Belt Replacement.
1 Quarter Trim Panel Assembly

Procedure

  1. Grasp the panel and pull outward, disengaging the clips securing the panel to the vehicle.
  2. Feed the seat belt through the opening in the panel.

  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation.
  3. Remove rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Removal and Installation.

Procedure

Use trim tool or equivalent to aid in the removal of trim panel.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
1 Quarter Upper Rear Trim Panel Assembly

Procedure

  1. The tether clip at the upper portion of the garnish molding MUST be replaced every time the quarter upper rear trim panel is removed.
  2. Release the tether to remove.
  3. Securely attach the tether when reinstalling the molding.

  1. Place the folding top assembly in a full down position to allow access to the quarter upper trim panel.
  2. Remove the lower rear seat shoulder belt anchor plate fastener. Refer to Rear Seat Retractor Side Belt Replacement

Procedure

  1. Use a flat-bladed tool to aid in removal.
  2. Feed the seat belt through the opening in the quarter upper trim panel.

  2. Remove the quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Trim Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the quarter upper rear trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Rear Trim Panel Replacement.
  4. Remove the rear seat retractor side belt. Refer to Rear Seat Retractor Side Belt Replacement.
  5. Remove the driver or passenger seat retractor side belt. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Retractor Side Belt Replacement.
1 Quarter Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cover

Procedure

Use a flat-bladed tool to release the cover.
2 Quarter Upper Trim Panel Fastener
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution.
Tighten

2 Nm (18 lb in)
3 Quarter Upper Trim Panel Assembly

Procedure

Disconnect the seat belt through the slot in the escutcheon opening.

  1. Remove the luggage shade. Refer to Luggage Shade Replacement.
  2. Remove the rear end trim finish upper panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Upper Panel Replacement.
1 Front Top Stowage Compartment Boot Rear Retaining Post Bolt and Nut (Qty: 2)
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution

Procedure

From inside the rear compartment, lift up on the folding top stowage compartment boot quarter outer drain panel to expose retainers.

Note: The front top stowage compartment boot rear retaining post bolt takes the place of the upper corner plastic push-in pin.
Tighten

9 Nm (80 lb in)
2 Rear Compartment Front Trim Retainer (Qty: 4)
3 Rear Compartment Front Trim Assembly
